Artist Prizes

Building on the success of previous years, we are delighted to announce that vouchers from Gordon Harris and The Drawing Room will once again be awarded to our winning artists across a range of media.

* Award-winning artworks must remain on display for the entire duration of the exhibition and will not be able to be uplifted by buyers until the end of the exhibition on Sunday 28th September at 4:30 pm.

Conditions of Entry

Selection and Setup

The Rangiora Art Society Committee reserves the right to refuse entries.

No refund of fees will be issued if rules are not adhered to.

The RAS Committee reserves the right to assist artists to set up panels in accordance with the rules:

Only original artworks are invited to enter.
All Artists must be financial members of the Rangiora Art Society.
Works must be original and the sole work of the artist.
Work made from a pattern or commercial kitset will not be accepted.
All Artists are reminded of copyright responsibilities.
RAS does not condone copies.
20% commission will be deducted from your retail price.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL UNFINISHED OR WET WORKS BE ACCEPTED

We welcome other merchandise prints, books, cards, bookmarks etc. if they can be individually priced and contained in a holder on or underneath your panel.
All works displayed on panels must be framed, strung and ready to hang.
Artists are to display their artworks during the times outlined above.
Those artists who have not paid a ‘displaying fee’ will need to hang their own works.
Artists who have paid the ‘displaying fee’ will need to submit their work along with a plan of their ideal panel - which the setup committee will endeavor to execute.
All works displayed on panels must not overhang the panel.
Screws will be supplied (Philips head) and you will need to bring your own power drill.
All artworks MUST BE hung with a minimum of two screws.
Please note permission to sell any works created in RAS workshop conditions has been obtained from the tutors.
All entries in the RAS ’30-Day Challenge’ section must be displayed in an A4 display binder and need to be labelled.

Liability and Insurance

All entries are submitted at the artist’s own risk. While every care will be taken,

RAS accepts no liability for any loss or damage and shall not be required to provide insurance cover for artworks.

$60 - PORTRAIT PANEL (1200mm Width x 2300mm High)
Artwork displayed on CANVAS or FRAMED - Works must be original and the sole work of the artist to a professional standard. The Panel Artist hangs their own works and fits artworks to panel space.
$20 - Panel Light

$20 - 2nd Panel Light
$30 - Shared Panels - Preferably 50/50 split, so long as full panel price is paid.
$10 - Single Artwork On Shared Panel
$20 - Two Artworks On Shared Panel
$20 - Displaying Fee I wish my works to be setup by a Committee member.
$30 - Trestle Table for Sculpture, Jewellery, Mosaic, Glass and Pottery etc.

We are back for 2026 with the same successful format as last year - in a stunning new look!

Important 2026 Panel Change:

To keep panel charges as low as possible for artists, only Portrait panels will be available this year.

Panels will be arranged in a European Art Gallery style for a beautiful, curated exhibition feel.
We recommend having at least as many reserve artworks as you sold in your previous two exhibitions
Artists manage their own panels throughout the exhibition
We encourage you to be present, engage with buyers, and help make the night a success

LABELLING

The full responsibility of labelling artwork falls to the artists.

A RAS label template will be provided, and artists are required to print or write their own artwork label details and attach labels with Velcro dots to their panel for sales purposes.

Copies of labels will be available for those without a printer.

All artworks must also be clearly labelled on the reverse with the artist’s name, contact details, title of work, media and selling price. Each artwork can be printed on the back or securely attached with a label.

SETUP

All artwork submissions must have Picture Triangles/D-rings at the sides and string across. This alleviates artwork floating or hanging unevenly.

All works must have a minimum of two screws. Screws will be provided (Philips Head); you will need to bring your own power drill.

OWN PANEL

Design your panel carefully; all Art displayed should not exceed 75% of the display panel area to ensure enough room for labels of works.

No works will be allowed to overhang your panel, and large heavy works are discouraged.

SHARED PANEL

Layout remains the sole responsibility of the RAS Committee and appointed team.

No works shall be moved - the decisions of the committee are final.

After the Show

COLLECTION OF UNSOLD WORK

UNSOLD Work can be taken from 4:30 pm on Sunday 4th of October.

Please note that SOLD works will be collected by purchasers during the exhibition unless they are award-winning and cannot be removed until the end of the exhibition.

Any purchases NOT collected are the responsibility of the Artist to deliver and not the RAS Committee.

All screws and unsold works must be removed at the end of the exhibition.

Payment of Sold Work

It may take up to 4 weeks for payments of sold works to be credited to your accounts; however, we will endeavor to make payments as soon as possible.

20% commission will be deducted from your retail price.
