Genavieve Amyes
New Zealand contemporary artist, inspired by pāpātuanuku. Florals, landscapes and other beautiful things.
Genavieve was born with an innate passion for creativity and artistic expression. From a young age she was an avid observer of the natural world, and an appreciator of the power of visual storytelling. Genavieve strives to capture an atmosphere and wants to draw the viewer to look more closely at individual elements within the natural world, that might otherwise be easily bypassed. She is often drawn to paint skyscapes, landscapes and florals, capturing moments that are fleeting in the real world, but have provoked a sense of wonder, curiosity or joy in her. Genavieve's art is influenced by many styles of art, historical and contemporary... This is reflected in her art which does not subscribe to just one style but can be more fluid, sometimes leaning towards realism, sometimes more impressionistic or expressionistic, and even abstract.
