Angela Laby Solo Show
Opening Wednesday at Fools of Desire Café the solo exhibition of multi-award-winning mixed media artist Angela Laby.
All That Glistens showcasing her captivating works that blend texture, luxury, and imagination. Angela’s artistry is characterized by the use of metallic leaf, paint, and eclectic materials, creating pieces that shimmer, evoke emotion, and invite exploration. Exhibiting at art shows and winning awards both nationally and internationally. Originally from Auckland moved to Rangiora for a change of pace and to escape the chaos and absolutely love living in North Canterbury.
Professional mixed media artist Angela Laby enjoys working with textures and mediums. “Alot of my works feature metallic leaf and paint as I love to add a bit of luxuriousness to them I enjoy using anything from Impasto to Metal and Lace, something that catches my eye and the viewer. I mainly draw my inspiration from texture and what I think works well to show depth and imagination. I find solace in my studio, where I escape the chaos of everyday life and unleash my creativity. With the door closed and music playing, I lose myself in the process of bringing new ideas to life on canvas.”
