Laura Hewetson works from her tiny converted playhouse, Apple Tree Studio, in the heart of Rangiora. Having spent most of her life in the North Island, she moved to North Canterbury in 2019 with her young family. Laura's artistic journey spans a range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, film, theatre, and special effects makeup. She teaches art to young people, sharing her knowledge and passion with the next generation of creatives. Her work is infused with a sense of nostalgia and whimsy, often inspired by the rich and diverse landscapes of Aotearoa New Zealand. With a passion for creative expression and community building, Laura continues to explore new ways to connect, collaborate, and grow in the local arts scene.
