The Canterbury Plains and their surrounds influence and inspire Heather’s art.

Recently, Heather has been exploring soft pastels by attending various artist workshops. She has successfully overcome her aversion to messy fingers, finding that the medium’s sheer versatility far outweighs any drawbacks. Inspired by lessons from master pastel painters, Heather is actively developing her own unique style. Furthermore, she continues to experiment with diverse media and frequently incorporates natural materials into her artworks.

Heather has exhibited locally as a member of the Rangiora Art Society and now runs her own gallery,'Kaiapoi Little Gallery’ in Kaiapoi, where she shares the space with other local artists
